# Chain Streets: Live the chain.

> A life sim and city builder in Hashport, a bright harbour city of the future that runs on its own chain. Work, build, trade, make friends and vote your way up.

Chain Streets is a life sim and city builder set in Hashport, a bright harbour city of the future. Work, build, trade, make friends and vote your way up, in districts that replay the story of crypto.

**Coming soon: Hashport is getting ready for its first residents.**

## Key facts

- Status: not open yet. Coming soon: Hashport is getting ready for its first residents.
- Platform: a web browser on a computer or a phone. Nothing to download.
- Money: BLK (everyday cash) and GEN (the mined asset) are in-game currencies only. They are never sold for real money and never cashed out. No crypto wallet or real coins are needed to play. Nothing in the game is financial advice.
- Coming, not available yet: real-money rewards for set tasks (sponsored challenges, seasonal competitions, selling what you create), funded by sponsors and revenue, for adults (18+) with ID checks, capped, only where the law allows.
- Coming, not available yet: the Chain Streets Launchpad, a separate app connected to the game for launching fan and community tokens, open only to Chain Streets players and designed to cut down rug pulls. 18+, only where the law allows. Tokens are risky and can lose all their value.
- World: fictional and original. Hashport and every other place, person and brand in the game are made up, for players all over the world.
- Time: every schedule runs on GMT. Rent is due every Saturday 18:00 GMT.
- Language: English first.

## Step off the maglev with almost nothing.

A BlockPhone, a bed in a shared room and a few BLK. That's your start in Hashport. Find work, pay the rent and move up, one key at a time.

Homes you can move up through:

- Shared room: A bed in a room with others. (24 BLK a week)
- Single room: A door that locks, and space for a second piece. (48 BLK a week)
- Studio: Room to sleep, sit, and park one small rig. (80 BLK a week)
- Apartment: A living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and a desk of your own. (160 BLK a week)
- House: A whole canal house: a study, a guest room and space to fill. (300 BLK a week)

Plots and market stalls: live. Buildings that grow with their owners: coming.

## Life pushes back.

Seven needs drain while you play. Eat, sleep, shower, see friends, get checked over. Let them slide and everything gets harder; keep them up and you work better, earn more and feel great.

Rent is due every Saturday 18:00 GMT, with 24 hours' grace and auto-pay. The same clock for everyone, everywhere.

The seven needs: energy, hunger, hygiene, mood, social, health, bladder.

## Every object does something.

Walk into any building and tap what you see. Use it in one tap, master it with a quick skill moment for a better result, then make it yours with upgrades and finishes.

Try it in this loft: tap a glowing marker.

Every object has three layers: use it (one tap), master it (an optional skill moment for a better result) and make it yours (upgrades and finishes). In the loft on the page:

- Kitchen: Cook rice, with a timing skill moment
- Bed: Sleep
- Mining rig: Start the rig
- Sofa and screen: Watch the news
- Plant: Water it

## Every district is a chapter of crypto history.

Hashport's founders built each district as a Chronicle. Every season a new one opens, with its own look, rules, risks and stories. Scroll through time and watch the city change.

Chronicles (each district replays one chapter of crypto history):

- E0 Genesis (2009–2010): Hobby miners and the first blocks. GEN is mined, not traded yet. Look: Amber terminals, copper, warm stone. Playable now.
- E1 Pizza & Exchanges (2010–2013): The first exchanges open on Exchange Row, GEN buys its first pizza, and an exchange falls. Look: Terracotta arcades, brass tickers. Playable now.
- E2 Altcoin Alley (2013–2016): Forks and altcoins in the forge-lit yards: ASIC rigs arrive, blocks become a lottery, and miners pool their hash. Look: Steel workshops, forge glow. Playable now.
- E3 Contract Quarter (2015–2016): Code runs the money in the Contract Quarter, until a bug drains the DAO and the city votes on a fork. Look: Circuit-trace streets, lime light-lines. Playable now.
- E4 ICO Avenue (2017): Token launches, a hype meter and rugs on ICO Avenue, until the boom turns to bust. Look: Pink chrome, giant billboards. A later season.
- E5 Crypto Winter (2018–2019): A bear market freezes the city. Builders who stay get rewarded for it. Look: Frost glass, snowfall, heat lamps. A later season.
- E6 DeFi District (2020): Lending, liquidity and yield in the DeFi District, and bots in the Dark Forest. Look: Bio-domes, liquidity canals. A later season.
- E7 NFT & Meme (2021): Galleries, auctions and collectibles with provenance, plus Meme Valley. Look: Gallery pavilions, pop stickers. A later season.
- E8 The Collapse (2022): Bank runs and contagion test every district. Shields up, then rebuild. Look: Storm skies, alarm bars, shields. A later season.
- E9 DAO Quarter & AI (2023–2025): DAO governance, bridges between cities and agents that players build. Look: White civic domes, agent drones. A later season.
- E10 Open Chapter (2026 →): Players vote on what happens next. History stops being a replay. Look: A player-voted accent on the city. A later season.

## Jobs that play like games.

Pick up a shift, meet your boss, do the work with your own hands and get paid for how well you did it. Climb the ranks, then go out on your own.

Careers (each a run of real shifts with an NPC boss and hands-on tasks; pay follows how well you did):

- Courier: Packets across Hashport. Ranks: Runner → Route hand → Dispatcher → Lead runner → Block captain.
- Shop assistant: Counter, till, regulars. Ranks: Assistant → Till → Floor → Keyholder → Shop lead.
- Cook: A pot and a ticket rail. Ranks: Prep → Line → Cook → Sous → Kitchen lead.
- Miner operator: Watch a shared rack. Your own rig comes later. Ranks: Watcher → Rigger → Operator → Shift lead → Hash chief.
- Freelancer: Hours sold to whoever is building. Ranks: Hourly → Builder → Regular → Specialist → Studio.
- Tutor: Someone else's homework, your hour. Ranks: Helper → Tutor → Regular → Mentor → Desk lead.
- Tech repair: Fans, cables, patient owners. Ranks: Bench → Repair → Technician → Senior → Shop tech.
- Street trader: Buy small, sell smaller. Ranks: Hawker → Seller → Regular → Buyer → Corner.

Going out on your own:

- Your own rig: Mine GEN on your own rig, pay the power bill, join a pool. (live)
- Plots and stalls: Rent a lot, build a market stall, sell what you make. (live)
- Run a venue: Open a lounge, hire staff, keep the till. (live)
- Exchange Row: Trade GEN for BLK on the city exchange. (live)

Careers from later Chronicles (coming):

- Validator: Keep a node up, answer the alerts, get delegated to.
- Protocol founder: Launch something in the ICO boom and live with the hype.
- DAO seat: Win a seat and vote the treasury.

## Every move lands on the chain.

Buy a coffee and it's a transaction. Transactions wait in Mempool Plaza, then the Ledger Tower seals them into a block that anyone in the city can check.

This lab runs the Street Chain's real block format in your browser. Seal a block, try to mine one, then try to cheat.

It's a lesson, not money: BLK and GEN are game currencies and never leave the game.

How a block is sealed on the Street Chain: each transaction (entry) is a double-entry record whose lines sum to zero. The block hash is the SHA-256 of height, previous hash, the Merkle root of the entries, the entry count and the seal time, so every block points at the one before it. Changing any past payment changes that block's hash and breaks the link to every block after it.

The mining lesson on the page: the header is fixed except for a nonce; find a nonce whose SHA-256 starts with a given number of zeros. Real Bitcoin hashes an 80-byte header twice and compares it with a numeric target; counting leading zeros is the same idea.

## The city lives without you.

Power, water, internet, traffic and taxes run around the clock. Residents keep their shifts and remember you. Storms roll in, Pizza Day comes round, an exchange wobbles. The paper reports it all.

- City simulation: Power, water, internet, traffic and a city budget. (live)
- Residents who remember: Every resident keeps a shift and remembers how you treated them. (live)
- City events: Storms, brownouts, Pizza Day, an exchange collapse. (live)
- The Block Times: The city paper reports what happened while you slept. (live)
- Byte: Your pocket companion, with a tip when you need one. (live)

A sample front page of The Block Times, written by the game's scripted news (sample figures):

- Pizza Day on Exchange Row: Pizza Day is on now. Get there before it ends.
- GEN up 11% to 42 BLK: From 38 BLK at the last edition. Miners and traders take note.
- "Chain Commons" leads the tax vote: 128 ballots cast this week. City tax stands at 5%.

## Better with people.

Walk into a lounge and hear who's near you. Rack up a frame of pool, trade face to face, start a crew, or open your own venue and keep the till.

- Proximity voice: Hear the people near you. Muted until you choose. (live)
- 8-ball pool: Real tables, real opponents, friendly stakes in game money. (live)
- Darts 501: Two to four players at the lounge board: aim, steady, throw. (live)
- Crews: Start a crew, share a treasury, run a stall together. (live)
- Face-to-face trades: A secure trade window: both sides confirm or nothing moves. (live)
- Run a venue: Open a lounge, hire staff, keep the till. (live)

## Players write the next chapter.

Every week the city votes on its sales tax, and the result funds the clinics, the grid and the trains. Next come mayor races, and the big vote at the end of each season that decides where history goes.

This week's tax vote offers: Harbor Builders (Low Tax · 3.5%); Chain Commons (Balanced · 5.0%); Civic Grid (Public Works · 6.5%).

- Vote on tax: Residents vote on their city tax every week. (live)
- Mayor races: Run for mayor, make promises, keep them. (coming)
- Pick the next chapter: At the end of each season, players vote on where history goes next. (coming)

## One world. More cities every season.

Hashport is one island in an archipelago of free cities. Take the train up to Cinder Ridge today; new cities open as the Chronicles roll on, each with its own culture, music and skyline.

- Hashport (open): Harbour metropolis of glass towers, canals and garden terraces. Emblem: crane and anchor.
- Cinder Ridge (open): Forge town in the hills: rigs, steel yards and industrial beats. Emblem: peak and vent.
- Glassfield (later): Clean lines, prism towers and synth-pop on the boulevards. Emblem: prism tower.
- Frostgate (later): A northern gate town of frost glass and heat lamps. Emblem: gate and snow crystal.
- Solstice Sands (later): Warm dunes, bio-domes and long golden evenings. Emblem: sun disc.
- Driftwood Isles (later): Island piers, breezy beats and boats between the docks. Emblem: wave and pier.

## Real rewards are on the way.

Two big things are being built alongside the game: real-money rewards for set tasks, and a launch pad for player tokens built to keep rug pulls out.

Both are in development and not available yet. They will be for adults (18+) and only in countries where the law allows.

### Real-money rewards (coming)

Complete set tasks, like sponsored challenges, seasonal competitions and selling what you create, and get paid in real money.

- Funded by sponsors and the game's revenue, never by other players' deposits.
- Free to take part. Rewards are capped and paid out after checks.
- BLK and GEN stay game money and are never cashed out.

Coming later. 18+ with ID checks, and only in countries where the law allows.

### Chain Streets Launchpad (coming)

A separate app, connected to Chain Streets, for launching fan and community tokens. Only Chain Streets players can launch on it.

- Built for the community: your crew, your venue, your city.
- Controlled and secured, and designed to cut down rug pulls.
- A separate, optional app: you never need it to play the game.

In development. 18+ and only where the law allows. Tokens are risky and can lose all their value. Nothing here is financial advice.

## Straight from the game.

Captured from the browser build of Chain Streets. Nothing here is a mock-up.

- [Genesis Plaza at blue hour](https://chainstreets.io/brand/key-art/genesis-16x9-clean.jpg): The Ledger Tower shows the latest sealed block.

## Fun first. Fair always.

Chain Streets is a game first: the fun never depends on money. These are our rules, and they don't bend.

- Game money stays in the game: BLK and GEN are never sold for real money and never cashed out.
- No paid luck: Nothing random is ever sold. Random rewards are earned in play, with the odds shown.
- Breaks are allowed: Streaks forgive missed days, notifications are capped, and auto-pay covers rent.
- Your data stays yours: AI residents and Byte never see your personal details. Player text is never treated as instructions.
